I had a trip booked away this summer at what turned out to be the end of my second trimester of pregnancy. This jacket in the 3XL turned out to be perfect in terms of adjustment ability to allow for a bump whilst still holding protection correctly in place on my elbows and back. After trawling forums looking for a well-rated jacket that would be suitable for whilst pregnant I wanted to write this for anyone else in the same situation looking for good gear and no judgement!
Aside from this, it was comfortable and cool in temperatures of over 30, and held up well even in a thunderstorm, drying quickly overnight. I will likely continue to use it next summer, and will buy it again in a smaller size if needed.
My jacket arrived yesterday and fits beautifully. I ordered one size up for layers and I love the fit. First ride out today as the weather looks good so I'll update on my return as to how the jacket performs .
I needed to order a 4X for this jacket to fit my 51" hips. Unfortunately, this means the waist and arms are too large even with the adjustment buckles fully tightened. The zipper cuffs and neck leave gaps and wind easily gets in. I wish there was a Velcro closure added to both the cuff and neck.
I do like the protection this jacket provides, the internal pockets, and the aesthetic with the contrasting panels and patches. It is currently my "go to" warm weather jacket I just wish it was a bit more fitted to my waist and arms and I was able to eliminate the cuff and neck gaps.
